ANXIETY

Anxiety isn't just for the "weak," the "lazy" or the "poor souls," it is a host of disorders that probably affect more people than anyone would like to believe.  If you or someone you know has an anxiety disorder, you are not alone.  The latest statistics from the National Institute of Mental Health indicate that 40 million people age 18 and over in the US have an anxiety disorder.   Six million Americans in the same age group have panic disorder and 7.7 million suffer from PTSD.  When it comes to anxiety in social situations (formerly Social Phobia), we find there are about 15 million people with this disorder.  Add them all up (many people have more than one form of anxiety) and it is staggering.  So, it's not an isolated disorder, it affects every class, race and segment of this society and probably many other societies, too, and these people need, in fact, they deserve help.
