CANCER Cancer isn't one disease; it's an umbrella covering a variety of "diseases" which might be called "the cancers" and for which there are a variety of causes, meaning they need specialized treatments. Fortunately, there are many resources on the internet to research cancer so the patient and their family and friends have a wealth of information to help find what's considered "best" practices in caring for the cancer patient. Anyone dealing with cancer might want to watch the many videos, currently on the internet, about Dr. Randy Pausch, a college professor who died on July 25, 2008, nine months after receiving a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Dr. Pausch provides a unique perspective on life and death and the videos are well worth watching.
