The elderly are those people who have made it possible for the rest of us to have the lives we now enjoy and, as such, they deserve respect, care and gratitude.  But that's not always the case and it is understandable that the ravages of illness, especially those like Alzheimer's disease, can cause problems in relationships with the elderly.  If we are to address this problem, we need information and we also need to understand ourselves and ask the tough questions regarding why we engage in elder abuse.  Here are some sources for the beginning of that journey.
